Oat flakes are nothing but flaked oat seeds! They are totally whole and have great beneficial and nutritional properties. It is no coincidence that we also find them in our Hazelnuts and Mulberry Muesli and in our Mixture of Seeds and Flakes.
It has a low toxicity for celiacs and if not contaminated it does not create any problem. It is a great source of slow digesting carbohydrates, oats, and this makes it a product with very low insulin peaks. Therefore, ideal for sports, especially in the pre-race in the morning or for long-lasting training. Oats also contain a good amount of fiber which help us regulate the intestine and reduce cholesterol. Protein is between 13% and 15%, among the highest values in cereals.
A tip: how to consume them? Oat flakes can be used in various ways: in salads, omelettes or soups. You can also put them in the cake dough to give a dark color to the whole. Use them also in the Bread dough together with Super Semi-wholemeal flour and a handful of walnuts, you will get a healthy, tasty and very fragrant bread!
